Scheduled Contact Hours and Timetable

Class timetables may be from 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday, subject to availability.


Additionally, students are expected to spend at least 10 hours of individual study per week on research, learning activities and assessment activities utilising the facilities and resources available at YES College.

Entry Requirements

· Higher School Certificate or equivalent; or

· Vocational qualifications in Civil Construction Design related fields such as RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design or other relevant qualification at AQF 5 level; or

· Employment experience in a Civil Construction Design related field such as a Civil Construction Designer or Civil Engineering Draftsperson.

Pathways

· Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at an Australian Higher Education Provider, subject to their entry requirements.

· Employment as a Civil Engineer, Senior Civil Construction Designers or Civil Engineering Draftpersons.

This course is for people desiring to work as Civil Engineers, Senior Civil Construction Designers and Civil Engineering Draftpersons. People in these positions perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

This course has 12 units of competency, which includes 5 core units and 7 elective units. Learners must complete all 12 units to complete this course.
