Scheduled Contact Hours and Timetable

20 hours per week for 40 weeks.


Class timetables may be from 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday, subject to availability.


Additionally, students are expected to spend at least 10 hours of individual study per week on research, learning activities and assessment activities utilising the facilities and resources available at YES College.

· Vocational qualification from the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package at AQF level 4 or other relevant qualification at AQF 4 level or higher; or

· Employment in positions such as Civil Construction Designer and Civil Engineer Draftsperson.

This course is for individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals in the civil construction industry, supporting professional engineers. It develops the skills to plan and produce site-specific work designs, apply sound judgement in selecting equipment, roles, and techniques, and coordinate teams to meet client requirements. Graduates will use a broad range of technical, managerial, and planning skills to perform complex tasks with a high degree of autonomy.

This course has 20 units of competency, which includes 20 elective units. Learners must complete all 20 units to complete this course.
